The Big Undergraduate Survey - Your Chance to Shape Cambridge!

Featured news

Term is over (woo!), which means you finally have a moment to breathe - and absolutely no excuse not to fill in our BIG Undergraduate Survey! This is YOUR opportunity to share your experiences of Cambridge so far (if you’re a non-finalist). We know you have opinions on everything from welfare and finances to workload - and this is your chance to make them count.

Why Should You Bother?
Your answers won’t just sit in a spreadsheet collecting digital dust. This data will directly shape how the Students' Union campaigns for years to come. The survey allows us to lobby the University with real, hard evidence, pushing for changes that genuinely improve student life.
The last major survey of this kind, the Big Cambridge Survey (2018), provided crucial insights that helped drive policy improvements. For example:

  • 46% of students reported that financial concerns had a negative impact on their studies. We can use this data to lobby the university to increase the Cambridge Bursary in line with inflation and introduce other funding pots to enable everyone to achieve their full potential.
  • Over 50% felt that their workload was unmanageable at some point during the year. This data was crucial when we lobbied the university to review its teaching and the culture of overwork which Cambridge currently has. The results of this review will be coming very soon!

By updating this data, we can track changes, identify ongoing issues, and push for improvements in mental health support, financial aid, and academic workload.

What’s in it for You?

  • It takes less than 10 minutes (ideal for productive procrastination 👀).
  • Your responses will help both us and your JCR push for real change in key areas of student life.
  • One lucky respondent will win a £100 shopping voucher!

This isn’t just another form - this is your chance to influence Cambridge for the better. Ready to make your voice heard? Fill in the BIG Undergraduate Survey today!
