Weekend cruising, off-shore racing, exotic summer trips, training, foredeck sunbathing, dolphins and more! CUYC organises affordable yacht sailing for beginners and seasoned skippers alike.
Cambridge University Yacht Club (CUYC) organises affordable yacht sailing for all past and present members of the university, whether experienced or just interested beginners. CUYC runs every type of yachting trip from relaxed cruising and social trips, to hardcore adventurous trips, RYA training (day skipper, coastal skipper) including RYA/MCA skippers exams, and racing. During term time, trips go out on weekends throughout the year. Outside of term time, the club runs extended trips to attractive European cruising grounds. Trips happen on our club boats or on chartered boats (racing trips, Mediterranean cruising). Ashore we maintain a varied programme of activities. For our base of 200 members and 1,000 people on the mailing list, CUYC runs events ranging from formal RYA courses lasting a term or two, to single-day courses such as radio and first aid, to socials down the pub or formal halls.
Membership costs £39 and lasts for a full year from the day of joining. Weekend trips typically cost £60-90. Week-long summer trips (e.g. in the Fjords of Norway or Scilly Isles) typically cost £300. Everything is organised through our external site, please follow the link below for more information! Fair winds :)
