Founded in 1976, Cambridge University Karate Club is one of the most successful sports clubs in the University, having won the annual Varsity match against Oxford for the 14th consecutive year in 2020
We are the largest student karate club in the country, and one of the most successful sports clubs in the University with 14 consecutive Varsity victories - a Cambridge University record! The style practised is Shotokan, a popular and successful style practised all over the world, but the club also welcomes members who have experience in different styles, and caters for all levels of ability from beginner to black belt. The quality of instruction is of the highest calibre; a professional 7th Dan instructor visits us weekly, and we have regular guest instructors, including former European and World champions. We also sport a vibrant social life.
