Korfball is a mixed sport and can loosely be described as a cross between basketball and netball. It has half-blue status and enters two teams into the annual Varsity Games.
Originating in the Netherlands, korfball can be best described as a mix between netball, basketball and handball, but it is arguably a more varied and dynamic game. Korfball is a sport where men and women integrate both on and off the court, ensuring sexual equality at the inevitable post match party. It has half-blue status and enters two teams into the annual Varsity Games. We have two teams competing in the Cambridge area league and also enter numerous inter-university competitions.
It’s a very easy sport to learn, most of our players hadn’t played before joining the club and 1st team players are eligible for half-blues. We’re also a highly social sports club, with lots of pub nights, socials and formals.
