Luminomelia is an interdisciplinary philosophy society which puts an emphasis on open discussion and asking the right questions. Our events are entirely free of costs, and everybody is welcome!
We are Cambridge's largest philosophy society, open to anybody who has an interest in the connections between philosophy and other disciplines. Our members tend to be an eclectic mix from every subject across the university, and our talks assume no prior philosophical knowledge. Most of our events consist of a talk, a contemplation of questions and answers, and a round table discussion. These three segments each take up approximately half an hour, depending on the speaker and audience. We typically invite lecturers here at the university or external speakers to complement student presentations. Our events span a wide range of subjects, including philosophy of natural science, politics, ethics, theology, epistemology, and cognitive science. If you have an interest in philosophy, you're sure to find something that appeals to you!
