Outstanding Contribution to University Life: Award Description*
This award celebrates the success of an all-rounder student who has shown commitment within a variety of areas of student life. This individual has consistently contributed to the Cambridge student experience and has been involved in any or more of the following: student groups, college life, campaigns (SU or other), academic rep, and any other volunteering aspect of Cambridge University & Student Union. This individual approaches all aspects of volunteering with enthusiasm and commitment.
The winner of this award will encompass the SU’s core vision and values, leaving a lasting impact on the students of Cambridge.

Winner: James Walsh

James Walsh has won Outstanding Contribution because of their dedication to Girton College through freezing rents, lobbying for enhanced lighting and improved bus tracking system. The nominations that were submitted for this individual were very impressed with the work they have done this year.
Winner: Beth Doherty

Beth Doherty was involved in KCSU, working on rent strike, free period products, 24h library access, and welfare support. The nominations that were submitted for this individual stating that they work tirelessly and give every moment to KCSU.

Winner: Islamic Society

The Islamic Society supports a strong and rapidly growing community of students within the University. Every year the committee runs a huge number of events and activities, which cater to a variety of needs and interests among their membership.
This year alone, the society committee has hosted a freshers’ fortnight packed with activities, organised visits with their Oxford counterparts, taken its members on fun outings all around Cambridge and raised over £46,000 during their annual charity week.
